Psychology 101

About this site

This website is designed to help you learn the basics of psychology, the scientific study of thought and behavior. I've specifically created this site to go along with the Psychology 101 class that I teach at Yavapai College. At the moment, this site is in its very early stages and does not yet have much content. If you are enrolled in the Yavapai College class, please see the Blackboard site for the course content.

About the authorAbraham Feinberg

Abraham Feinberg is currently teaching psychology and computer science at Yavapai College, as well as working as an informatics analyst for Magellan Health. He lives in Prescott, AZ with his wife Cori and his daughter Emma.

Major Interests: My main interests in life are learning about how things work and then using that information to solve problems. At the moment, I am particularly interested in how we can make better educational computer programs (that adapt to students' needs) by using things like computational intelligence, artificial intelligence, and data analysis (especially "big data"). I also enjoy reading about biology, neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, physics, chemistry, history, art, skepticism, and ethics. In my free time I like to play music and grow planted freshwater aquariums.

Favorite authors: Richard Feynman, Douglas Adams, Carl Sagan, Isaac Asimov, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Richard Dawkins, Shakespeare, Daniel Dennet.

Favorite movies/TV Shows: Contact, Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain), Rare Birds, Much Ado About Nothing, Spirited Away, Game of Thrones, and anything by David Attenborough.
